Pip is a co-founder of Cascadia Projects. He has a 30-year career in economic modelling and analysis and investment management. He has worked in real estate, timber and infrastructure investing at companies such as Canada Mortgage and Housing, British Columbia Investment Management and MGPA (now part of Blackrock). Pip has worked on numerous transactions around the world, completing deals in Canada, the United States, Central and South America, Europe and Asia.
Pip holds BA and MA degrees in Natural Resource and Environmental Economics both from the University of Victoria.
David is a co-founder of Cascadia Projects. He has a broad background in renewable energy development as part of an international team developing marine and biomass energy technologies with a personal interest in business operations. Previously, he was the co-founder of a Calgary based technology company and a consultant to renewable energy companies. David started his career as a Canadian Forces Officer and served with the Reconnaissance Squadron of Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) in Canada and overseas.
David holds a BA from the University of British Columbia, a BSc in Biology and an MBA in Enterprise Development from the University of Calgary.
Bill Waugh is a Partner and the Chief Forester for Cascadia Projects. He has worked in the BC coastal forest industry for over 40 years. Bill has spent much of his career working with all levels of government including First Nations. Previously, he was Chief Forester with Island Timberlands LP where his responsibilities included timber supply analysis, post-harvest salvage, environmental and chain of custody certification, First Nations and government relations.
Bill holds a BSc in Forestry from the University of Alberta, a Diploma in Forest Technology from BCIT, and a Diploma in Advanced Silviculture from the Silviculture Institute of BC.
Richard (Doc) Walton is a Partner and the Chief Technology Officer for Cascadia Projects. As a pioneer in the development of both refinery technology and product certification, he has worked in the Torrefaction industry for 15 years, and is considered one of the world’s leading authorities. Doc was instrumental in the European registration of Biocoal, and accreditation of the product in the UK. Previously, he was Managing director of Renewable Fuel Technologies UK Ltd, and has consulted international with Utility clients on refinery development globally.
Doc holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a Master’s degree in Chemistry and PhD in Thermodynamics.
